A Happy Hour for Spiritual Discovery
Every Wednesday at 5:30 beginning September 18, 2024

This fall Woodland will offer a unique educational opportunity in spiritual discovery. Each Wednesday a lesson will be shared followed by discussion, all within a one-hour time period. Hors d'eouvres will be provided along with tea and coffee. Additional drinks will be on a “BYOB" status.

The first focus of Serendipity (September 18 - October 9) will feature “The Gospel According to Gamache,” a look at the basic themes of our theology (God, Christ, Holy Spirit, Church, Revelation, Evil, Forgiveness, etc.), inspired by the creative genius inherent in Louise Penny’s unique series of mystery novels, led by Mike Massar (Familiarity with the books is not necessary!).

The second focus (October 16 – November 6) will feature “The Future Present,” a study examining the influence of Artificial Intelligence on the future of humanity, our society, and the Church, led by Garrett Vickrey.

 *The Eagle & the Child is the pub in Oxford where C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Charles Williams, and other “Inklings” would gather to enjoy one another’s company and discuss matters of substance. We imagine “Serendipity” to be a similar experience.
