Katie Wilke Bio
Interim Minister to Children & Families
Since returning “home” to San Antonio in 2020, Katie has treasured time with her husband and three daughters while actively volunteering as an advocate for public education and social justice across Texas.
With over a decade of experience in public education, Katie has served as a teacher, curriculum writer, instructional coach, and most recently, as Principal of Lakewood Elementary in Dallas ISD. Her deep passion for leading and mentoring adults to better serve children naturally aligns with the mission of children’s ministry.
A proud alumna of both Texas A&M and SMU, Katie brings strong school spirit and a love for learning to everything she does. Though she now embraces life in Texas, she was born in the Pacific Northwest—and still finds joy in a rainy day and an ocean view.
At Woodland, Katie is committed to ensuring every child feels loved and a true sense of belonging. She is excited to continue shaping a compassionate, inclusive children’s ministry that nurtures curiosity and wonder through the story of Jesus.
