Maundy Thursday Service — 7 p.m. in Maresh Hall

Maundy Thursday invites us into one of the most intimate and powerful moments of the Christian story—the final night Jesus shared with his disciples. This service follows a Tenebrae pattern, a “service of shadows” that traces the movement from the Last Supper, to the Garden of Gethsemane, the Trial, and the cross. Through scripture, music, and extinguishing candles, we will experience the story not just as something we remember, but as something we enter. It is a quiet, reflective service that makes space for honesty, prayer, and the depth of Holy Week.

If you are looking for something different—something slower, more contemplative, and deeply meaningful—this service offers a sacred pause in the midst of a busy season. You don’t need to know anything about Tenebrae to participate; simply come as you are. Whether you’ve walked through Holy Week many times or are experiencing it for the first time, this service creates space to sit with the story of Jesus.

Easter Sunday Services — 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. — Maresh Hall

There will be no Sunday School. This will be a different kind of Easter, but it could be a really wonderful morning. The Sanctuary Choir will sing at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. At 11 a.m., there will be an ensemble.

As the 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. services begin, it’s likely that there will still be people in the courtyard.
They might even be laughing and talking. There might be a kid hopped up on jellybeans running around.
These will be signs of resurrection to us this year. We’re out of the sanctuary, and you can clearly see into
the courtyard from where we worship in Maresh Hall. So let the signs of fullness and the joy of distraction
fill our hearts with awe this Sunday as much as the “planned content.”

In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty,

in all things grace

“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon and touched with our hands, concerning the word of life—the life was made manifest, and we saw it, and witness to it.”
