Did You Know — Together for Hope
Woodland Church budget for 2025 Together for Hope is $300.
Together for Hope is a rural development coalition engaging the 338 counties of persistent rural poverty in America as defined by the USDA. These counties are rural based on their population, and 20% or more of their population has lived below the federal poverty line for the past 30 years or more. When you map these counties and parishes, they cluster into five ethno-geographies of persistent rural poverty:
Appalachia
Black Belt
Delta
Rio Grande Valley
Native Lands
At Together for Hope, they believe assets-based community development is the best first step in fighting poverty in rural space. To that end, they work with communities in order to hear their dreams and begin to take steps toward those visions. Within these communities, Together for Hope holistically fights poverty, focusing on four priorities of hope:
Education
Heath & Nutrition
Housing & Environment
Social Enterprise
In over 20 years, TFH has distributed over 560,000 lbs of food, impacted over 14,800 children, have over 58,620 volunteers and over 1.1 million volunteer hours.
At the CBF Texas Spring Gathering, Ellen Di Giosia and Jason Coker signed a partnership agreement. They will be working together along the Rio Grande Valley. What does this mean for Woodland? Let’s find out together!
