Pastoral letter, from Garrett

This Wednesday night will be the first “Serendipity.” This is a Wednesday night gathering for study, prayer, and fellowship this fall. The first study will be “The Gospel According to Armand Ganache.” The second will be a theological dialogue on Artificial Intelligence.

Serendipity is the luck people have in finding or creating interesting or valuable things by chance. Our faith reminds us we live in a world of gifts—a world full of God's blessings. Theologically speaking, when we look for the graces around us, we should not be surprised to find them. We will gather at 5:30 and wrap up about 6:30 p.m. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served. Childcare is available.

The first LifeTimers of the fall is this Thursday. Lois Gagne will be the featured speaker. Lois is fun, thoughtful, and full of energy. You will not want to miss this unique opportunity to hear from Woodland’s longtime pianist.

Our ministry partner, Fellowship Southwest, is having its Compassion and Justice conference this Friday and Saturday in Dallas. This will be an encouraging time to hear from people like Jeremy Everett of the Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty and Mariah Humphries, a member of the Mvskoke Nation, a writer and a speaker.

Join us for our Habitat Build every Saturday (weather pending) from September 14 - November 16. Sign up for as many build days as you want. This year we are helping the Rodriguez Family build their new home. You can meet the Rodriguez Family here. Find directions, waivers, age regulations, and more on our website.
Grace and peace,
Garrett Vickrey
