Pastoral note, from Garrett

What a season we are coming out of! A packed choir Christmas concert at a beautiful location, the gift-making workshop, a meaningful Hope & Healing service, Sunday School Christmas parties, a children’s Christmas Eve service, and of course, Candlelight Silent Night.

Renovation work continues in the sanctuary area. The new foyer at the playground entrance is awaiting the storefront glass, which has been delayed. So far, we haven’t had any delays besides the glass. But we are entering a time when delays could set back the completion date. Initially, we were scheduled to move back into the sanctuary in June. A realistic but optimistic move-in date could be in April. We’ll see. If we start seeing glass go up soon, we can probably be even more hopeful for an earlier entry date. 

On January 25 we will have our annual State of the Church meeting during the Sunday School hour in Maresh Hall. This is a chance to review our life together in 2025 and look forward to the year ahead. 

I’m in Dallas for Doctoral classes this week and next, but I’ll see you Sunday.
