Pastoral note, from Garrett
For those counting down, Wednesday is Christmas Eve. We will have 3 services that day. The 3 p.m. is our Family service geared toward children. There will be a space for them to sit up front. There will be music and stories (a.k.a. lessons and carols).
Our Candlelight Christmas Eve services at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. will be more traditional and liturgical. Lessons, carols, and candlelight. All are welcome. We plan on livestreaming the 5 p.m. service.
Sunday, December 28, we will have 1 service at 11 a.m. There is no Sunday School. You are invited to get to church early for coffee and donuts at 10:30 a.m. On January 4, we will be back to the regular 9-10-11 schedule.
The church office will be open on Dec. 30-31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The office will be closed these days between Christmas and New Year’s: 12/25, 12/26, 12/29, 1/1, and 1/2.
On January 4, the Sanctuary Choir is joining a mass choir for a special concert entitled “To the Hill Country with Love.” This concert will be at Trinity Baptist Church at 4 p.m. on the 6-month anniversary of the floods last summer. This is a fundraiser. So, the tickets are not free. Proceeds go to mental health resources for the first responders. This is a special project Randy Edwards has put together with other musicians in our community. If you want to sing with the choir, there is still time.
Grace and peace,
Garrett Vickrey
Senior Pastor
