Pastoral note, from Garrett

After the baptism of Jay Elizalde yesterday at the beginning of worship, a child a few rows back exclaimed, “That was so cool!” 

These holy moments remind us of the way God’s Spirit shows up when we are open to the sacred in our midst. It is cool. 

At the business meeting after worship, we had a good discussion about the sanctuary renovation project. However, members of my family told me that I talked too long and provided too much backstory. They were ready for lunch, which is fair. They were probably not alone there.

We had a small information session this morning and will have another one on Thursday at noon. That will be a hybrid meeting. You can join us on ZOOM or IRL (aka “In Real Life”) in the Traveler’s Class. 

This Sunday, after worship, there will be a Special Business Meeting to vote on the 3 Motions coming from the Church Council and the Finance Committee: Sanctuary Renovation, Capital Campaign, and the revised Addendum to the Financial Policy. You can read those motions below. If you can’t be here Sunday, you can also vote online. Look for an email on Sunday morning with a link to vote.
