Pastoral note, from Garrett

Happy Spring Break to those who celebrate. I hope everyone is getting adjusted to the time change. I noticed a surprising number of people at the 9 a.m. service on Sunday. With it being daylight savings time Sunday, Spring Break, and a rainy morning, I thought I might be singing a solo during some of the hymns.

This is a pretty light week around the church. There isn’t much on the calendar. The Life After Loss group continues meeting on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The Finance Committee meets at noon on Sunday. And the Sunday Spanish Bible Class meets at noon, too.

Coming up soon is a very important Church Workday on March 21. This will be a time to get our campus in shape as we look to reopen the sanctuary in May.

What are you learning this Lent? As you think of taking up your cross and following Jesus today, what does that look like? If there are parts of that call to follow that make you shrink back, you might ask why. This is a good day to spend a moment in quiet reflection. Listen to the rain drip. Look for refracted light in the fog. How might God be speaking to you today?

Grace and peace,
Garrett Vickrey
