Pastoral note, from Garrett

Clement of Alexandria said, “Christ has turned all our sunsets into dawns.” It’s still Easter. The resurrection is still dawning upon us.

Around noon on Easter Sunday, the clouds began to part and the sun shone through. The rainy morning gave way to a beautiful afternoon. We’re grateful for the rain. But I like to think the worship at Woodland brought light and warmth this Easter… or maybe it’s more appropriate to say that the Spirit of God brought light and warmth to us, and we shared these gifts with each other.

WEDNESDAY: Let’s eat dinner and talk about empathy. We’ll meet at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday for pizza and salad. See more info below.

SUNDAY: We will have a Quarterly Business Meeting in the sanctuary after worship. We will discuss the renovation plans. We now have the maximum construction cost of the project. You probably saw that message this past weekend. More information about the business meeting is below.

NEXT WEEK: We will have two informational sessions about the renovation: April 28 at 10 a.m. and May 1 at noon. May 1 will be a hybrid meeting on Zoom and in person.

Grace and peace,
Garrett Vickrey
