PURPOSE:

Our purpose is developing and maintaining relationships with persons who need some extra Tender Loving Care (TLC) at Woodland. TLC are members of our Woodland family of faith who are unable to attend due to health and/or aging issues. BBMT volunteers will be assigned up to four TLC persons to offer ministry and support.

ACTIONS:

  • Communicating with TLC members encourages each to know their importance to Woodland and to the kingdom of God.

  • Contacting TLC members regularly will be done through writing letters or sending cards. Phone calls, sending emails where feasible as well as personal visits strengthen the bond between the team members, the TLC member and Woodland. We encourage each team member to make at least one contact per month. Cards for such as birthday, Easter and Christmas are included. When appropriate, information learned from the TLC member will be shared with the pastor, staff and Care Group leaders.

  • Coordinating with our deacons and Care Group leaders helps us work together to be assured that regular ministry is occurring. Deacons will provide leadership through serving the Lord’s Supper to TLC members who want to participate and by giving flowers around Easter and Christmas.

VOLUNTEER TO BE ON THE TEAM:

You can volunteer to be on the Building Bridges Ministry Team.  Contact one of our BBMT facilitators for information.
