Did You Know — CBF
A Missions Moment Brought to you by the
Missions & Ministries Committee
Woodland Missions budget for 2025 for CBF (Cooperative Baptist Fellowship) is $19,800. The budget money helps support the CBF’s operating budget, which includes funds allocated to state organizations like CBF Texas.
CBF is a Christian network of individuals and churches working together to spread the hope of Christ. The diverse community includes partners all over the globe, and the fellowship supports a wide range of missions and ministries that give people meaningful opportunities to put their faith into action.
For over 30 years, CBF has been driven by its mission to serve Christians and churches as they discover and fulfill their God-given mission, and to live into their vision of being a national and global community bearing witness to the Gospel in partnership with Christians across the nation and around the world.
In addition to the budget, Woodland collects a special Offering for Global Missions each year beginning at the Annual Thanksgiving Meal. In 2024, Woodland members donated $18,845.80 to keep Field Personnel on the field.
CBF Global Missions shares God’s message of hope and love in real ways to some of the most marginalized and vulnerable people in the world—people living in extreme poverty, migrants and refugee children, and families fleeing violence in search of a safe haven, persons who are trafficked, and families who have lost everything through a hurricane, earthquake, or other natural disaster.
Empowered by the Holy Spirit, CBF cultivates a beloved community, bears witness to Jesus Christ, and seeks transformational development among people and places that are otherwise forgotten and forsaken by the world.
CBF field personnel serve alongside congregations and organizations within three primary contexts: global poverty, global migration, and the Global Church.
Woodland Church supports four CBF Field Personnel Families by sending each $350 per month for their ministries ($4200 each per year, $16,800 total).
Jeff & Alicia Lee* in North Macedonia
Jana Lee in Cyprus
Greg & Sue Smith in Fredericksburg, Virginia
Elket Rodriguez* in the Rio Grande Valley
Woodland is an Encourager Church for Jeff & Alicia Lee and Elket Rodriguez. This means we commit to pray for them regularly and serve alongside them periodically. They keep us informed with regular emails and phone calls. Look for a possible trip to North Macedonia in 2026 to learn serve alongside the Lees and possible trips to the Texas Border later this year and in 2026 to learn and serve with Elket. While there, part of our ministry will be to encourage Jeff, Alicia, & Ethan and Elket.
CBF Advocacy seeks to help congregations, pastors, and lay members enhance their missions and ministries through advocacy. As Christians dedicated to serving our communities, we strive to exercise responsible Christian citizenship by modeling an inclusive public witness for the Church that amplifies the voices of marginalized, neglected, and forgotten groups. Look for an advocacy trip to Washington, D.C. in Spring 2026.
Other CBF programs that Woodland supports are Together for Hope and the Dr. Emmanuel McCall Racial Justice and Leadership Initiative, with $300 each per year.
Several Woodland Church staff are headed to St. Louis MO this week for the annual CBF General Assembly. They will worship with CBF people from all over. They will attend workshops, share meals, hear amazing speakers and preachers, hear CBF reports, and see old friends and meet new friends. They will also receive the CBF Missions Excellence Award. Read more about this award in a previous Did You Know article here.
