A Missions Moment Brought to you by the
Missions & Ministries Committee
Woodland’s 2025 budget includes $1500 for Rise Recovery.
Rise Recovery has worked tirelessly for nearly 50 years to bring change into the world through recovery. They are proud to offer programs and services that help teens, young adults, and families overcome the effects of drugs and alcohol and partner with the community in education and prevention. They keep programs free to those they serve because they strive to eliminate any and all barriers to recovery.
Youth: They provide a safe space for teens to rebuild their lives and have a brighter future. The Youth Program is offered to youth ages 12-17 who are struggling with or recovering from substance use. The program offers peer support, education, and activities tailored to their unique needs. Rise Inspire Academy, San Antonio’s only recovery high school, combines innovative learning methods with a strong peer culture where all students are active in their recovery and committed to supporting their peers.
Young Adults: They offer programs for young adults to grow while in recovery. The Young Adult Program is offered to adults ages 18-35 who are struggling with or recovering from substance use. The program offers peer support, education, and activities tailored to their unique needs.
Families: Family members need support while their loved ones are in recovery. The Family Program is offered to adults, 18+, whose loved one is struggling with or recovering from substance use, while their New Gens Program is offered to youth, ages 9-17, whose family member is struggling with substance use.
Their programs are based on relationship strengthening and meeting the unique recovery support needs of the entire family. Their services are designed to heal the wounds left from drugs and alcohol and bring purpose and hope for the future. Their people will be with people every step of the way, to give love and support and the tools necessary to navigate the path of recovery.
With Rise Recovery, there is no judgment, no time limit, and no insurance requirement.

“Without Rise Recovery, I wouldn’t be alive today. I started drinking and smoking at the age of twelve. At fourteen, I had my first overdose of many. Soon, I was introduced to Rise Recovery. They all showed me love and tolerance. Teenagers from different schools were hanging out and having fun … even the counselors were excited about being sober!”
