Decisions:
Yesterday’s sermon focused on decisions.  Conrad commented that “life is full of decisions”.   Some of these decisions are going to be easy.  Many are going to be hard and require much more thought and faith to make the correct decision.  Harder decisions usually find us talking to trusted family, friends and colleagues to get opinions.  Asking God for guidance and having faith is also important.  I can look back on my life and see that God did have reasons for us to move to Utah when I was in high school.  At the time though I did not understand why God would take us to a small town with 5 stop lights and where the dialup internet was a long-distance phone call.

Eight years ago Matt and I made the decision to move here from Louisiana with Thomas and Grace.  This was not an easy decision, but we decided it was the right thing for our family. We have embraced new opportunities, and we have been able to build new friendships here that we will cherish forever.  While we miss our friends (and the food) in Louisiana, we are glad we are here. Our children are both involved at school and at Woodland.  The talk around the house now revolves around choosing 6th grade course selections for Grace and 11th grade courses for Thomas. We have encouraged them to talk to others to get opinions and let God to continue to guide them.  These can be hard decisions to make.

Three years ago I was asked to be on Church Council.  That was not a decision I took lightly. I’m glad I accepted this 4-year commitment, and I look forward to being the Chair of Church Council this year. But thankfully today I only have one decision looming. Do I need to make a king cake today?  I think we all know the answer to that.
