Pastoral letter, from Garrett

San Antonio’s MLK March this morning was freezing cold. Still, people from all over our community braved the cold to demonstrate the kind of neighborly love that makes the Beloved Community possible. Woodland had a group of marchers join with our sister congregation, Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

This week is supposed to be cold. The church office will be closed Tuesday. As a reminder, the church office closes when the NEISD and NISD close due to weather. I hope you stay warm and safe this week.

Sunday after church, we will have our State of the Church lunch and meeting after worship. We will gather in Maresh Hall to look back at 2024 and look ahead to 2025.

Finally, Rev. Dr. Kenneth Kemp, pastor of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, is giving the MLK Commemorative Lecture at Trinity University this Thursday night. See the graphic below on this email. All are welcome to attend the lecture on January 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Margarite B. Parker Chapel at Trinity.
Grace and peace,
Garrett Vickrey
