The Week of Peace
As your peace rules in our hearts, we give thanks to you, Lord, and rejoice in the birth of the Prince of Peace. Amen

John 14:27
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid.” John 14:27
I feel troubled when I do not get somewhere on time. Troubled is the opposite of peace.
Peace reminds me of patience and quiet, peace is basically waiting. So if peace means waiting, the point of the peace candle would be all about teaching how to wait. People from all over the land were waiting for the special Son to be born, especially Anna. She worked at the Temple day and night, waiting for the special day to come. And it finally did. She got to see baby Jesus when she was 83. That took patience, and she must have waited in peace.
Troubled means you have fear or you don’t like something going on around you. But Jesus wants us to have peace. I am in a peace club at my school. We help people who are troubled find peace. I love that because it’s kind of like what Jesus does for us. (I also like it because my friend Sam does it, too. She is a new member at our church.)
Are there any ways that you help Jesus give peace?
